The Frisian Environmental Federation (FMF) has been working for 50 years to create a beautiful and sustainable Fryslân: rich biodiversity, a beautiful landscape, and a healthy living environment for people, plants, and animals. They are passionately committed to the sustainable development of the province. This is their mission, and they intend to continue working hard on it in the coming years.

As a network organization, they build bridges between their affiliated organizations, Frisian government agencies, businesses, and Frisian citizens. In total, they represent over 40 affiliated organizations and, through these organizations, more than 95,000 Frisians. With their roots firmly planted in Frisian society and a nationwide network of Nature and Environmental Federations, they can create impact locally and nationally. This is essential, because climate, biodiversity, and environmental quality require all hands on deck.
