Project bimhuis

BIMHUIS is a place for pioneering musicians and curious listeners of all generations.

From the early beginning, the BIMHUIS has been known as a stage for contemporary jazz and improvised music.

Here, jazz history is celebrated, young talent develops and the conversation about musical conventions and freedom is ongoing. Since 1974, they have been a hub in the national and international network of groundbreaking music. The art of listening is the basis of the BIMHUIS. Jazz and improvisation train your ability to listen. All people who are involved in the BIMHUIS in any way consciously listen to music, makers and visitors; to each other and to society. Listening well, from a receptive attitude, contributes to mutual understanding. The BIMHUIS is, like jazz itself, an open form, continuously developing, in relation to the world: a mentality.

Sustainability is important to them, they participate in several sustainability projects, both nationally and internationally. They are partners of Better Live and Footprints. They are also an active member of the Europe Jazz Network (EJN).

In October 2024 they celebrated their 50th anniversary, for which flags and a banner were developed. From the perspective of sustainability, it was very natural that they asked us to do something with these materials. We made these nice bags for them. Another number of canvases that found a new life!
